The Curriculum

What Apprentices Learn

Diagnostic Inspection

How to evaluate a machine's condition, identify wear patterns, and communicate findings clearly to customers and colleagues.

Repair Techniques

Hands-on repair of manual and conventional machinery, including electrical troubleshooting, hydraulic service, and mechanical adjustments.

Precision Rebuilding

Disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of machine components to factory tolerances, including ways, bearings, spindles, and drive systems.

Tolerance Verification

Use of precision measuring instruments to verify and document that equipment meets factory specifications after service.

Parts Sourcing

How to identify, source, and evaluate replacement parts for legacy and current production equipment from American and import manufacturers.

Customer Communication

Professional communication with facility operators and managers, including how to present findings reports and service recommendations.

Who Should Apply

Program Requirements

We look for candidates who are reliable, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in the machine tool trade. Prior experience in a manufacturing or mechanical environment is a plus, but not required. What matters most is a willingness to learn and a commitment to doing quality work.

  • Interest in mechanical systems and precision manufacturing
  • Ability to work in a hands-on shop environment
  • Reliable transportation to our Pomona facility
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Willingness to follow direction and ask questions
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or relevant coursework (preferred)
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or machining (a plus)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
