As part of Wheeler Machinery Sales, we are always proud to be a local, family-owned American company. That's why we have an American flag on our staff shirts - a nod to the freedom to work hard, make a living and help those around us do the same. Here at Dan's Machine Tool, we truly believe that we repair the machines that build America. And that built America, as like many across the country, this July we celebrate 250 years of the United States of America.
Beginning in the early 1800s, America saw the industrial revolution transform the nation from one built on agriculture with independent craftsmen to one transformed by the machinery that could mass produce parts and products. It's no coincidence that the industry grew as the railroads expanded, and population increased, making machinery vital to meeting growing demands. Later, American manufacturing would be part of the backbone of American strength and victory in both World Wars.
Of course, one of the most notable historical markers in American manufacturing was the advent of Henry Ford and his Model T automobile. It reshaped the nation and developed a whole new branch of machinery use – car manufacturing. While American manufacturing has ebbed and flowed in many industries as companies move abroad, new fields such as aerospace, electronics, and medical equipment have emerged to continue homegrown manufacturing for a new generation.
Not only have Americans been a manufacturing powerhouse, but we have also built the machines themselves. How about a shout out to some American lathe, mill, grinder and other machinery companies we work with who continue to build at least a portion of their machines in factories here in the States – Leblond, Cincinnati, Minster, Baleigh, Hardinge, Lagun, JET, Scotchman, and Bridgeport, just to name a few! Built at home or abroad, with Dan's Machine Tool, they can be rebuilt here.
Whether a large company or small family shop, we are here to service your machines and keep your business stateside, providing a living for many and products to even more. This summer, when you are firing up that BBQ for the Fourth of July, consider firing up your machines with preventative maintenance or rebuilds and repairs with Dan's Machine Tool.
